The first day of the meeting consisted of a series of presentations by working group members using CCSM (or closely related models) to study the climate. These studies could be loosely categorized into three topics: the effects of sea ice on constituents of the global climate, fresh water fluxes in the ocean, and Arctic clouds. All presentations dealt primarily with the Northern Hemisphere. The second day of the meeting was geared toward model improvements for the sea ice, ocean and atmosphere components of CCSM, with information presented at the end about data resources available from NSIDC and progress in porting the model to new platforms. Two sessions were devoted to discussion of the above and other related topics, summarized at the end of this report. Here we include the major points of each presentation in the authors’ words.
